Hella Hot or Hella Not?
If you haven't figured it yet each week new singles in Japan are released. Since we're always on top of our game and we always want to deliver the hot news and let you know which song is hot and which is not we now have a featured song review section. Every week we will pick a song by an artist before it's released and we will review it for you.

Mai K sings the Japan theme song to "Dark Angel"! So we know that "Dark Angel" has reached Japan but unfortunately no one really cares about it in the US :( It's ok Jessica Alba is still hot! This is Mai's third single of the year and once again it hits number 1 on Oricon! Oh and better mention it now before I don't get a chance to... this is a very beautiful cover  in all respects from the lighting to the colors! :)

This single is a very slow ballad. A much different tune from her last single "Feel Fine!". This song brings out more of Mai's vocal talents because it's a soft ballad. The beautiful piano background really sets up this single. While this single is far from catchy it's very soothing and calm. In fact I'm falling asleep from it! No not really :P

This week were instituting a new scale of rating. Sure we're gonna keep Hella Hot or Hella Not... errr. sorta but we're gonna rate it by points. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best and maybe an 11 if we really feel the need to. While this new single from our babe Mai K is good and fairly new still to us we have yet to be captured by it's appeal. It's not catchy like we said but it really is sang beautifully so we're gonna drop a 7 on it. Sorry, hehehe... but if you love Mai K then buy it! :)

Song number 2 of this week and it's by Olivia! Probably one of the most underrated singers in J-Pop but we absolutely love her! This single comes self-produced by none other than herself! Her first self produced single! Boy aren't we proud of her! :)

The single features a rock-ish tune like all her singles. Not so much heavy as her last song which was like 9 month ago "Sea Me", which btw we still love! It's been quite some time since she has released a single so this one was a long time coming. The song seems to be sort of half Japanese and half English. Well maybe not exactly half but there is a LOT of English in it! She's half American, half Japanese so she's fluent in both languages ^_^ The song is actually pretty soft and can be called light rock. The chorus is pretty good with "I just wanna love" getting repeated in my head over and over again! The singing is Olivia style... very high pitched.

Boy we've been waiting almost FOREVER for this song! And I think we found a winner! Although she's not really that popular she shouldn't be overlooked at all! We're gonna give this single a 8.5. It's not exactly good enough for the 9s but it's defiantly a GREAT song!
