Hella Hot or Hella Not?
If you haven't figured it yet each week new singles in Japan are released. Since we're always on top of our game and we always want to deliver the hot news and let you know which song is hot and which is not we now have a featured song review section. Every week we will pick a song by an artist before it's released and we will review it for you.

Past Archives

10/2: Fayray - Touch Me, Kiss Me
Next Week: Ayumi Hamasaki - Voyage
This Week: BoA - Kiseki Vs Aya Matsuura - The Bigaku

Finally, it's what you have been waiting for! Aya Matsuura Vs BoA in a game of... pool??!?!?! Ok so we're not exactly Hey Hey Hey Music Champ but instead we're gonna take both their new releases this week and place them head to head against each other. We will be analyzing each song as usual and giving a rank on them. Winner takes all and will get to return again the show! Same goes for loser too, LOL!

The 美学 / 松浦亜弥   Vs   奇蹟 / BoA

Background of the songs:
Now dubbed as one of the "3A female artist" by local press in Japan which also consist of Ayumi Hamasaki and Ami Suzuki Aya brings out yet another Tsunku produced track which has finally propelled her to the rightful number 1 spot on Oricon on her first day release!
BoA brings 3 new songs on this CD the first "Kiseki" is the theme of cosmetic company "Kose's Luminous". But that's not it... track 2 "No. 1" was used in the 2002 Asian games and track 3 is the commercial song for "Lotte's, Macadamia Chocolate". Whoa BoA's loaded this time and Valenti is still on the charts!
Singing: While Aya doesn't have the pyrotechnics as BoA does in her voice she sure does a good job in this song. She varies in beats especially since this is another upbeat song. She is getting better though and is really becoming a complete artist in terms of singing talent. BoA is already well known for her talents in Korea and this song is no less short of what she is capable of doing with her voice! She begins the track with some "whoas" which already demonstrate that hot voice of hers! The song is sort of mid-tempo but it picks up during the chorus. BoA really shows her talent there.
Background Music/ Tune: A total dance track here by Aya. It's something you want to jump up and down to! As we are doing now ^_^ Ahhh hard to type while jumping, hehehe. The background has some powerful trumpets and horns which give this song life. Of course Aya's occasional singing and whacky style finishes off this great song This song has some very exotic music in it and is a mid to fast tempo song. I guess it's danceable to it but it sure has some very catchy piano music to it :) The beats of the drums are perfectly aligned with Boa's singing which is executed to perfection.
Overall: Gotta be honest when I say this song is super catchy!!! Aya does a great job on this song and it's sounds wonderful! I probably rank this a knotch above her last single "Yeah! Meccha Holiday", which was VERY good! Back to back good songs by BoA in like the last month! Kudos to her for that! This one is excellent but I think we liked Valenti a bit better though. Nonetheless this is one kick ass song!
