1/29: Utada Hikaru - Colors

COLORS / 宇多田ヒカルHikki's first single in... over 6 months! When Sakura Drops came out last May no one would have expected her to be a married woman when her next single releases but here she is no longer on the market but singing just as well.

The song starts off kind of mysterious. Very beautiful background music much like Sakura Drops. Right from the start you can tell this song sounds sort of similar to her other tracks off of "Deep River". It's somewhat fast paced but it slows at times. The choruses are very powerful and enchanting like every Utada song. The background music really makes this song good. It really sounds weird but I can't exactly put my hand on it as to why it's so good. It just is. It's the Hikki magic!

It seems to me that Hikki's music is transforming a bit. Earlier in her career she would drop very R&B-ish songs which brough her recognition but now she is singing more rock-ish songs. While the quality on her tracks have not diminished she surely is showing her versatility as a singer. Defiantly one of the best in the business. Perfect 10!

Buy it now and you'll also get the english version of "Hikari" dubbed "Simple and Clean".
